Through my 14 years of employment
at James Hardie Building Products, Inc. I have had the
opportunity to work with at least 6 Plant HR Managers.
I found Angie McCraw to have skills that rate among
the best when it came to managing employee relations
and employee counseling. Her style of handling difficult
employee issues was methodical and collaborative. Ultimately
all sides felt as though they were “heard” and the decision rendered was based on fact and rule
rather than emotion. Angie took ownership of the process
and followed up in a manner that met my demanding expectations.
A few specific examples come to mind. First is an employee
who has a skill set which met the core job duties, but
whose behaviors were inappropriate and bordered on insubordination.
Angie not only was able to diagnose and prescribe a
solution for the situation in our disciplinary intervention,
she was able to lead the employee to a place where her
behavior fell into compliance and remains a productive
employee today.
A second example is an employee whose skill set was
clearly not a fit for the position and who also displayed
multiple signs of being a high-risk for litigation.
At my request, Angie assisted in conducting his termination
with skill and diplomacy allowing us to avoid an ugly
situation. Potential legal action was avoided.
Based on her successful involvement with various HR
issues in my workplace I can recommend Angie to any
company needing such services.
